Inspired by the dynamic, structured forms of waves—from the crash of the ocean to the invisible frequency of sound—Şebnem Düzgün’s works capture energy in its most solid state.
These are the big hits: moments of high-frequency impact frozen in clay. They are the hot rocks: earth materials pushed to their thermal limit until they sing. It is a collection of rhythms of earth and vitrified vibrations—energy you can touch.
Disclaimer: This exhibition is curated without measurable input from The Rolling Stones—but the rocks are definitely rolling.
In the back gallery Dagmar Nickerson exhibits sculptural forms made of layers of encaustic wax, Dan Root exhibits staged photographs in surrealist style and Lisa Garbett with geometric compositions in Encaustic wax and Arlo Panter in his earthy energetic paintings and drawings.
