"WHAT WAS WHAT IS" AND "RESONANT ECHOES" CONCURRENT EXHIBIT

931 Gallery is proud to announce the upcoming exhibition in the Front Gallery: What Was / What Is, on view Aug. 29th, 2025 through Sept. 28th, 2025. What Was / What Is brings together works from six Colorado artists that examine meaning within the physical and psychological landscapes we inhabit. Using diverse approaches and mediums, each artist considers past and present while investigating what lies beneath. From garish clichés to covert symbolism, What Was / What Is invites viewers to consider new ways of understanding through a visual feast celebrating process and form.

Participating artists Janine Thornton, Julie Jablonski, Eli West, Manda Remmen, Leah Swenson, and Tricia Vitrano explore these themes in diverse mediums: from steel, embroidery, and assemblage to silk organza, encaustic, and felt.

In the Back Gallery, Jude Barton shows her new exhibition called “Resonant Echoes”. Barton presents a collection of paintings and drawings designed to offer a pause for exploration. These works provide an open framework that may evoke internal echoes and resonances. Barton believes geometry serves as a universal visual language, quietly acting as a catalyst for thought and reflection.
